Facos is a very nice club where local kids apply and can be accepted if they stay in school and are willing to do many activities in the many programs the club has to offer. The have a very nice facility where our team had their first friendly match and won handily 7-3; We will see this team again in the tournament this weekend.
Before the match, Denison orchestrated a very nice discussion between our team and the children teaching all the children respect for each other, each other's cultures, and humanizing the children with each other. He had them laughing and listening intently. He did such a great job bridging the cultures that afterward you will see many pictures of our team intermingling and exchanging email addresses with the other kids. What is most amazing is all this happened where non of the Brazilian kids spoke english and non of our kids speak portugese. They are looking forward to chatting on google thru the translator.
